Opus North secures two shortlistings at the EG and Insider Yorkshire Property Awards

The shortlists were recently announced for this year’s EG Awards and Insider’s Yorkshire Property Awards, where 12 King Street was named as a double finalist.

Opus North, together with funding partner Fiera Real Estate UK (“FRE UK”), successfully completed the development of Leeds’ ‘most energy efficient’ refurbished office building, which PC’d earlier this year. Prior to on-site works commencing, FRE UK and Opus North worked with DLA Architecture to design the new scheme with health, wellbeing and sustainability in mind, including conducting a thorough life cycle assessment to identify the embodied carbon of all the materials and construction.

Since completion, the building has achieved:

  • 14% reduction in carbon emissions
  • 29% less energy consumption for heating and cooling
  • 42% less water consumption
  • BREEAM Excellent rating (the second most prestigious score available, which places 12 King Street in the top 10% of buildings for best practice)
  • EPC rating improvement from E to A
